On behalf of AKMG Canada we are delighted to invite you to our inaugural convention. Be there to witness the creation of history. Let us make this event one of the most memorable events as physicians and dentists of Kerala ancestry in Canada.

Set in the beautiful Payal Banquet Hall in Misissauga, this event will be a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with the Who’s Who of AKMG Canada. Following a welcome reception we will have CME activities with our faculty members led by Dr. Salim Yusuf, DPhil, MRCP, OC.

Dr. Salim Yusuf is an internationally renowned cardiologist and epidemiologist whose work over 35 years has substantially influenced prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. His large-scale studies involving several hundreds of thousands of individuals in dozens of countries have changed the way some of the world’s most deadly health conditions are prevented, treated and managed. He is the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario / Marion W. Burke Chair in Cardiovascular Disease in McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.

Dr. Yusuf is  professor of medicine of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University and director of the Population Health Research Institute (PHRI). He was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2013 and is a laureate of the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.

 The CME event will be followed by a multi-course lunch and entertainment. One of the major outcomes that we hope to realize is the generation of new collaborations. There will be tables set up to encourage members interested in taking their current activities to the next level through effective and purposeful collaborations.
